The average American will visit their medical doctor 3-5 times in any given year. Surprisingly, headaches account for one-half of these visits. Half a billion dollars are spent each year on over-the-counter drugs and remedies. This half billion dollars is measured expense for the remedies, but what about the financial and emotional expenses a person experiences with headaches?

Migraine headaches strike one in eight Americans, including children. Two-thirds of these sufferers are women. Migraine headaches are characterized by pain on one side of the head. Usually the headache pain begins behind one eye and increases in intensity until the person finds comfort in a dark, quiet room for hours to days.
