Stiff Neck Pain

Stiff Neck Syndrome

Too often we take for granted being able to move our neck – turning it from side to side, looking behind us and generally not having to think about our neck. Not everyone is so fortunate. There are many people who are afraid of turning of their necks, afraid to look over their shoulder for fear of grimacing in pain.

Everyone should be able to not only look side to side, but also be able to turn their chin even with or past their shoulder, or look down at their feet or over their head. Not everyone can do this because of pain. Heat may help occasionally, as well as some over the counter medications, prescription muscle relaxants or pain killers, but this is not the best way to live. Living without this pain and aggravation is the ideal way of life.

There are many way in which this stiff neck syndrome can develop. For example, a difficult childbirth delivery, falling down those steps when you were two years old, the auto accident five years ago, sleeping on your stomach or your arm, using too firm of a pillow, occupational hazards are just few. Your neck is like a transmission with gears. If these gears are abused by life, stress and injury, then subluxation and spinal degeneration develop causing these gears to “stick.” Chiropractic care gets extraordinary correction with these gears and often revitalizes them.

Being a true friend is helping others feel good and live life to its fullest. Don’t allow those you care about to suffer with back and neck pain.
